Brainy Prankster is a hilarious wacky puzzle–action game with a charmingly absurd humour and a lot of completely different and kicking the brain gameplay mechanics. Inspired by old school prank shows like Jackass and Pranksterz, the game puts players in an environment where misdemeanor humor was the winner. Which means that this new gang of wacky characters, all with their very own games, will leap into battle for the 40+ madcap mini-games that sees them skateboard on the high seas or, erm, try to perfectly roll down a hill in a trash can.

What is crucial about the game is how unashamedly silly it is. Some tasks involve knocking rivals off cliffs in a “goofy duel” or escaping police in a golf cart rampage, all while supplying a steady stream of slapstick comedy. As with Brain Wars, the quirky art-style is pop art with a touch of animation exaggerated visuals, enhanced by a variety of in-game visual effects. The soundtrack is just as mad as what you see, with some bouncy tracks and quirky sound effects added in as the insanity is cranked to 11.

Though skill and coordination play a large role in the core gameplay, Brainy Prankster also adds in light puzzle-solving features, forcing players to think outside to box as they think on their on their feet. The challenge curve can feel uneven, though, some levels will require pixel-perfect precision while others favour luck a bit more. Some puzzles offer little in the way of clear guidance, which could be exasperating to the more casual gamer, but for those willing to embrace the trial-and-error and go on to find that "aha!" moments.

While Brainy Prankster doesn’t offer anything groundbreaking, it does make for a fun stress-relief game. Its fast, replayable levels and competitive multiplayer modes are perfect for short sessions with friends. It’s an irreverent confection for fans of the gag and of physics-based chaos. It’s definitely for the best that we’ll soon be able to confound and thrash friends and strangers on the go. This game is all about the absurd gameplay of smashing, exploding and swimming.
